Christmas Opening Hours:
- Last working day: Christmas Eve
- Closed: Christmas Day through to Sunday 4th January
- Reopening: Monday 5th January
As the year winds down, it’s a good moment to take stock of everything that’s happened and look at what’s ahead. For us at Norwich Auto Locksmith, 2025 has been a busy, unpredictable, and rewarding year. Every day looks a little different in this job, but the one constant is that people tend to call us when they’re stressed, stuck, or simply having a rotten day. Being able to turn up, sort the problem, and genuinely help someone out when they need it - that’s still part of the work we’re most proud of.
There wasn’t one particular type of job that dominated 2025. One day it might be a lost-key emergency, the next we’re fitting van locks, rekeying after a theft, or sorting an ignition fault. The mix keeps us on our toes, and it means we’re constantly adapting to whatever rolls in.
One thing we did notice, though, was a rise in concerns about keyless vehicle theft. It’s something we’ve spoken to a lot of customers about this year. If you use a keyless system, we’d strongly recommend keeping your keys as far away from the front door as possible - or popping them in a Faraday pouch. They’re only a few pounds online and can help block the signal that thieves try to exploit.
Investing in New Tech During 2025
Staying up to date has been a big focus this year. We’ve added a number of new programming systems, which now allow us to work with pretty much all makes and models - including 2025 vehicles. The only ones outside our scope at the moment are post-2016 Mercedes, but everything else is covered.
This constant reinvestment is important. Cars change every year, and if we don’t keep up, the service slows down - and nobody wants that. Our aim is always to turn up, get the job sorted there and then, and save people the hassle and cost of going to a dealership.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Next year we’re aiming to really grow the van locks side of the business. We already fit Thatcham-approved slamlocks and deadlocks for tradespeople across Norfolk and Suffolk, but we want to build that up further, particularly for fleets.
On top of that, we’ll keep investing in new technology - both for key reprogramming and for keeping more vehicle parts in stock. Carrying more ignitions, locks, and components means we can fix more issues on the spot rather than ordering parts in. It cuts down waiting time and gets people moving sooner.
Christmas & New Year Availability
Here are our hours over the festive period:
- Last working day: Christmas Eve
- Closed: Christmas Day through to Sunday 4th January
- Reopening: Monday 5th January
We will still be answering emergency enquiries throughout the whole period and will do our best to help whenever we can.
If you find yourself locked out, lose a key while visiting family, or run into an issue with a van or car, give us a call. We’ll pick up whenever possible.
A Big Thank You
We really do want to say thank you to everyone who’s come to us this year. Whether it was a last-minute emergency or you popped in for something more routine like new van locks, we’re genuinely grateful. Your support is what allows us to keep moving forward, refining what we do, and delivering the kind of service people rely on. As we head into 2026, that’s still our aim: to be there when you need us the most.
A Few Tips for the Festive Season
Christmas often brings the usual mishaps: lost keys during family visits, keys locked in the boot during shopping runs, and an increase in opportunistic thefts. A couple of reminders:
- Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even on quick stops.
- If you have keyless entry, keep your keys well away from your car overnight.
- If you’re heading away, make sure you know where your spare key is before you set off.
A small bit of preparation can save you a lot of stress later on.
